Lunar Eclipse 331 BC
On the 20th September 331 BC eleven days before
the victory of Alexander the great over Darius of the Persian emperor at Arbela
in Assyria, there was an eclipse of the Moon when it appeared the colour of
blood as recorded by Plutarch and Pliny.
