The only cricket match to have been interrupted by an eclipse of the Sun was the Jubilee test between India and England on February 16th, 1980.
A solar eclipse was due that afternoon, and the Indian board,
in agreement with the English team, did not want the responsibility of a crowd
of 50,000 damaging their eyes by looking at the Sun when the eclipse began. The
test match continued the following morning.
England won the match by 10 wickets.

I remember back then they showed a hindi movie on the national TV at the eclipse time so that most people would stay home to watch the movie and not venture out to see the eclipse!
