Phillips
On April 24th
1874 John Phillips died although best known for his work on geology he was also
a pioneer of astronomical photography.
John
Phillips was born in Wiltshire, He was the first keeper of the Yorkshire Museum
in York and helped organise the first meeting of the Association for the
Advance of Science meeting that was held in York in 1831.
